Does CDI/CBP buy debt?

No, we are a third party collection agency collecting on accounts owned by our clients.

Do CDI and CBP have 24/7 payment opportunities?

Yes. We can accept payments at all hours on every day of the year. To make a payment, please refer to the respective telephone numbers and mailing addresses listed above.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept payments with Visa, Discover, Master Card, and checks by phone on our 24/7 system. Additionally, we accept cash, money orders and cashiers checks. For Medical debt we also take HSA and Flex card payments. All forms of payment should be made in U.S. currency.

Important note: Please do not send cash through the mail.

Do you charge a transaction fee for credit card or check by phone payments?

No. We offer this service free to assist you and the original creditor in resolving the account.

When I make my payment, will you send me a receipt?

If you request a receipt on a paid in full account, we will send one to you. If you make your payment by check, you should expect a 10 day or so delay for your receipt to allow time for your check to clear your bank. Otherwise, we will send the receipt to you on the following business day. Please be sure to include your reference number or account number when making your payment.

Can I send my payment to the original creditor?

Yes, but the original creditor may not be aware of any applicable fees or charges that may have been added to the account. To be assured that you have the actual account balance, you should call our recovery specialists. They can assist you with your payment, too. To speak to a recovery specialist, please refer to the respective telephone numbers listed above.

How come my current balance is greater than the original balance?

Circumstances may exist where additional fees, such as interest, dishonored check fees and other charges or fees that may be applicable and added to an account's balance. This is important because in order for us to show the entire account as paid, the original account balance and all associated fees and charges would be required to be paid as well. You may wish to call our recovery specialists to receive the actual account balance. They can assist you with your payment.

Do CDI and CBP report the accounts to the credit reporting agencies?

Yes. We allow the consumer a grace period of at least 30 days before the accounts are reported to the credit reporting agencies.
